For my book I picked Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451. This book is set in the future where firemen start fires and literature is frowned upon. I felt this assignment was tough because many of the books out there have several covers already. I tried to stay away from most of the covers I saw. Since the main character was a fireman, I used a fire scene to set the background. I also triend to use a gray tint to the text to make it look like smoke. In the text I textured the words to help with the smoke look.

Its really hard to read the title. The spine has art work that's not on the cover. I am not clear as to what is the back cover. You really do not need one for this project.

I love the fire effect but the rest of the imagery really gets lost. Sometimes using a layer fx of an outer-glow effect (with light opacity) behind text and the focal point of the image (the fireman) really helps them stand out mmore, yet in a subtle way. I feel like your text could really use a layer fx of stroke, and honestly the smoke effect, while a cool thought, doesn't seem to work with the intensity of the fire.
